About

Hey! I’m Toni D, a queer Black woman based in Richmond, VA, who owns and operates the blog The Black Quirky Queer. I decided to start this blog to express my thoughts, feelings, and experiences, all while finding a Black LGBTQ+ community. However, in the process of setting up the blog, I realized that I was also inadvertently on a journey to self-discovery and knowledge.

I’ve learned so much about the ins and outs of blogging (and I’m still learning), Black queer history and powerful figures, and most of all, I’ve learned a lot about myself. Since the launch of the blog, I have met some wonderful people. It has been quite the journey, and it has just begun!
